Collection Exercise – Heather and Michele

We have given ourselves an exceptional collection/cataloging challenge.  We are gathering Van Gogh images that may have rarely been seen by the viewing public – and in at least two instances – images that were destroyed by fire during World War II.  We will be including 5 drawings/watercolors and 5 paintings.

Our target audiences will be 1) first year art students and 2) art history graduate students/art historians.  Thus, we will need to be able to provide detailed and sophisticated information for each image we select.

Looking at the sample of images below that Heather and I have reviewed, would you attribute any of these paintings or drawings to Vincent Van Gogh?  (Click on any of the images for a larger view.)
