“As teachers, we will need to relinquish some control in the classroom. While our focus has long been on our expertise, we will need to be willing to be learners, along with our students.”
I really loved this quote. The last paragraph in the chapter is a great reflection on what teachers, and librarians alike should do when advising students. It’s important to teach them how to correctly use the systems that are in place but to also reference the areas which could be improved. I think this ties in well with the Dewey articles we’ve read because I’ve often felt that Dewey classifications are often not as politically correct as we would want them to be.
