I found the Bauer and Kaltenbock chapter very helpful. The idea that good metadata is really essential to linked open data improved my understanding of both concepts. The point of linked open data is to make data accessible to as many users as possible. Metadata, the information about this information on the web (in this case,) makes it possible for this linking to occur so people can find what they are looking for.
While linked open data seems like a great idea for finding information, I would not want the information I post on my personal accounts for my friends and family to be open to anyone. I am a little confused as to how this idea of privacy relates to linked open data.
