I feel that the idea of linked open data is a great one. In the Bauer and Kaltenbock chapter they talk about our blogs or tweets as information that we put out on the internet for new people to see and use. We are unconsciously publishing information on the internet for users that we may not even know. This is the idea of having open data, data that is published and can be accessed by anyone. This really resonates to me because that is exactly what librarians are striving to achieve. We want users to be able to access as much information as they could possibly want. We need to be able to break some of this hidden information free from the complex systems that it hides in.
